As we all know technology is great, however with  technology, also comes predators and scam artist that will abuse a good thing! If you are looking for properties for lease on Craigslist, please confirm that the source of the posted is a reliable source.

If  listed by owner, ask for their name and confirm that he/she is the owner or record.
If the property is listed on Multiple listing Services Website (HAR), verify the price and contact the listing agent if the list price or any other terms are not in sink with the MLS information.

If the deal sounds to good to be true it probably is. Most Houses for lease in the Harris, Brazoria and Galveston areas do not include utilities, typically will require first month and a security deposit equal to month rental payment. If pets are allow a pet deposit will be in order.

When corresponding thought the web DO NOT SEND ANY MONE. If they are asking you to wire money so you do not miss the great opportunity ... most likely is a scam. No money should be give until you have had the chance to view the property and agreed that  you are intersected in leasing property, income and other requirements have been meet and a lease is sign.

If you are familiar with the neighborhood you will be able to tell if the lease price is to good to be true. If you are not familiar with the area or are new to Metro Houston area do not take any chances.

Whether you are familiar with the area or new contact a real estate agent to help you determine value. A realtor not only will help you find you the lease property that best work for you, She will also will protect you from falling into the hands of a scam artist.

I specialize in first time home buyers as well as leases. Call me, I can help you, sell, lease or buy a property.
